Every teacher at Steady English meets rigorous standards before they ever meet a student.
All teachers must:
Complete a background education check
Hold proper, verifiable teaching certification (TEFL, TESOL, CELTA, or equivalent)
Pass an interview and teaching demonstration
Complete our internal Steady English training structure
For Level 1 teachers (Doctorate & Certified Educator):
Hold doctorates in reading, literacy, TESOL, or related fields
Have trained teachers for governments or universities or taught at adults
Bring 15+ years of experience
For Level 2 teachers specifically (Certified & Experienced):
Completion of our full Steady English training structure is required
Training includes our method, platform use, and student communication standards
Ongoing mentorship and observation by our doctorate-level team
For Level 3 teachers (Tutor with TEFL & experience):
Hold bachelor's degrees and/or TEFL/TESOL certification
Have 0–5 years of teaching experience
Are supervised by our doctorate-level team
All teachers – regardless of level – are evaluated regularly to ensure quality and warmth.

Steady English contracts teachers from around the world – the United States, South Africa, the United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Vietnam, South Korea, China, and beyond.
We believe that a great teacher can come from anywhere. A passport does not determine pedagogy. An accent does not indicate ability.
Our teachers bring different cultures, different accents, and different life experiences into every lesson. That is not a weakness. That is a strength.
Students at Steady English are exposed to real global English – not a single "standard" that exists only in textbooks.

Intelligence is not connected to an accent or a specific location on this planet.
A person who speaks English with a thick accent may hold a doctorate. A person from a small village may be a brilliant educator. A teacher born in a non-English-speaking country may be more effective than one born in London or New York.
Accent is geography. Intelligence is character, training, and care.
We hire and celebrate teachers from everywhere. We encourage students to learn from many voices.
